Chevrolet Beretta information:

Chevrolet Beretta became the most sought car after the general motors’ division of Chevrolet unleashed the car in 1988 with its small two door coupe. The car experienced various modifications and re-modifications in its models throughout the life-cycle. The Base Beretta or the base model was equipped with 4 cylinder 2.0L engine and an optional 2.8L V6 with a manual transmission for better acceleration. Chevy Beretta evolved with more modern technologies with other models like GT, GTU, GTZ, Z26 and the rare Indy. The exterior of the coupe of Base Beretta evolved along with improvement in the car’s under parts. The 2.0L engine evolved into 2.3L and the V6 engines used 3.1L. The Beretta even hailed as the winner in the Trans Am Series championship in the year 1990 by using an aftermarket V8 engine. Chevy Beretta disappeared gradually in 1996 as the market no more favored the two-door models.

Final overview

Chevrolet’s Beretta was probably the best front wheel drive coup of its time. It gained much popularity at its inception in the market. Chevrolet launched new models in this series, upgrading the technology each time. Among the models GTZ was accredited as the best performing Beretta by the users and the critics. Beretta Indy was probably the most ambitious and innovative model of Beretta, manufactured by Chevrolet, in its convertible form and resemblance with a fashionable sports car. However, Chevrolet launched only three cars in of this model in the market.

In 1996, Chevrolet had to stall the production of Beretta due to two major reasons. Firstly, Chevrolet lost the rights over the brand name ‘Beretta’ to a gun corporation in Germany and secondly, the latest market did not approve of the two door models of cars anymore. The cost of Chevy Beretta was high due to the limited number available in the market and brief lifespan with rare models. Its rarity will surely accredit it as a vintage car in the future.
