Mitsubishi, a Japanese automaker, manufactured Dodge Stealth sport car which was first known as Mitsubishi GTO in between 1990 and 2001. Chrysler, actually, design the car accompany with his Japanese partner. The name of the car was inspired by a two door hardtop-coupe named Galant GTO, which was made available for selling in the 1970s by the company.

After the great display of Mitsubishi HSX and Mitsubishi HSR concept car in Tokyo Motor Show, Mitsubishi decided to develop such sport car which may compete to other sport cars of the times, so it developed new GTO 2+2 seater sport coupe which was technologically advanced car. Mitsubishi’s flagship car was marketed in Japan as Mitsubishi 3000GT, and out of the Japan, it is sold by the name of Dodge Stealth. Rear bumpers and side air vents were modernized; moreover its interior was redone to make it more comfortable by including a new sound system, air conditioning refrigerant and dual air bags. It had hardtop which opened and closed by just a button.  It was the first model which had such feature; but it could be made available only for 2 years because it could not be sold in that quantity as it was expected.

Engine of Dodge Stealth

During 1997 to 1999, there were several models which were incorporated with the similar engines as second generation models were incorporated, but it had some minor changes as a rainbow shaped wing of arched type, and the front bumper was also new. In 1999, its exterior was renovated which had an aggressive front bumper, sail panels, and turn signals; its Combat Wing was incorporated with airfoil spoiler. In the 1999, the car was available only in the US market. Because of almost no demand, the production was stopped for Japanese market in the year 2000.
