Keep Your Eyes On This Classic Car! The Ultimate Ferrari Series Still Lives Through
The year 2014 brings us a great selection of cars. Whether you are the sporty type, or you are aiming to get a little more elegant with your ride, you will have plenty of choices at your disposal. There is no denying that the Ferrari 360 is still well in its prime, with a few models which are still holding on well. The sports car two - seater classic released three models in total. The 360 Modena, the 360 Spider and the Challenge Stradale. Even though these models are considered to be old, and certainly older than the Ferrari F430, it is still considered to be a formidable model even today.
What are the overall features of the car?
The Ferrari 360 released three models in the total production, before the F430 series was started. The 360 Modena was the first car of the series, being named after a town in Italy. Even though it was powerful and demanded, it soon grown to be replaced by the 360 Spider. This model was the 20th convertible created by the Ferrari industry; it was built with strength in mind. Featuring a powerful, 400-HP V8 engine with five valves per cylinder, it counted as a real breakthrough of the Ferrari 360 series. The engine could reach 294 kW (400 HP) at 8500 RPM in terms of maximal power and it was further supported by the Bosch Motronic ME7.3 electronic injection fuel feed and a single plate clutch. With these performances, the 360 Spider has been estimated to be able to reach over 290 km/h. The aluminum space frame chassis held disk brakes and the F1 6 – speed transmission (manual or electro – hydraulic), and most importantly, the fuel tank, which was designed to hold 95 liters of gas. Following the Spider, along came the Challenge Stradale, which was a limited edition vehicle, mostly aiming to improve the notable setbacks of the first released Modena. It was based off the 360 Modena, except it featured a noticeable decrease in total weight, as well as improved handling and better acceleration.
What about customization options and upgrades?
One of the most appreciated traits which followed the Ferrari 360 series was the ability to upgrade them and get an overall better experience. What about safety options?
This is, perhaps, the only factor of the entire Ferrari 360 series which might not meet the customers with what they expected out of it. With simply a traction control and a pretensioner, none of the models out of the series included the option of having air bags, which clearly makes for a bad aspect of the entire overview. The models were intended for speed and strength, rather than weight and safety, so that might explain the lack of any notable safety features included. Still, with a seatbelt and some basic care towards what you are doing on the road, you should be as safe as houses.
Overall, it seems that the Ferrari 360 is still quite a strong car to consider, despite the minor setback regarding the safety. After looking through all of the standpoints, it is easy to conclude that regardless of the age it managed to accumulate, it still makes for a great purchase for every Ferrari lover looking to get a fast, well performing car for themselves. Though, when considering models, perhaps the best choice to be made would be the Spider model, as it seems to be the most advanced out of the three. It doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get a Modena as well and get a few upgrades for it, if you want it to perform as well as a Spider. Just to save you all the trouble of getting the upgrades, you can opt out to have the Spider right from the start and perhaps employ some of the upgrades to get it to run on an even more enhanced level! The options are endless, which is one of the main reasons the Ferrari 360 is still living up to its name without trailing back. With all of the upgrades you can successfully apply to the car, you can experiment and see where it takes you. They move at a fairly good price right about now, so purchasing one shouldn’t be a strain too large. The only thing you should be concerned about at this point would be the safety measures. This is a 2005 model we are talking about, some of the later generation models and brands didn’t employ these techniques in terms of safety. You can look forward to a lot of other good features though, and since the car itself is open to customization of a wide range, you can make up for most of the things you would see out of place and turn it into the car with the performance of your choice.
