GMC Sierra 3500 Classic information:

GMC Sierra 3500 belongs to the series of full size pick up trucks and it was introduced in 1998 by General motors. GMC Sierra mechanically identical to Chevrolet Silverado remains a successor in the long running vehicle segment. The GMC Sierra full size pickup was first introduced in 1930 and the vehicle aimed industrial workers. The fully equipped luxury truck earlier models were available with trim and variation in engine and equipment. The 1999 redesigned model was introduced with a different grille and interior trim. The first generation GMC Sierra 3500 1998 classic models were introduced as heavy duty and by 2002 slight changes were made in design and body style. The all new Sierra arrived in 2006 features redesigned exterior, interior, engine and increased power. The pickup with improved aerodynamics was introduced with improved fuel economy. The Classic model continued for two years. By 2011 GMC models were upgraded with new high strength steel frame and with new hydraulic body mounts. In 2014, the redesigned GMC Sierra was introduced by adding latest technologies. The 2014 GMC Sierra 3500 HD features 6 speed automatic versions with engine options of 322 hp, 6.0 liter V-8 regular gas and 397 hp, 6.6 liter V-8 diesel version.

Various models and features

The GMC Sierra Classic was offered in different models 2WD, 4WD and unique Denali Classic with a diverse range of capabilities. With regular, extended body styles, the vehicle offered half ton, three quarter ton and one ton model. The pick up delivered tremendous payloads with extensive towing capability and the classic models were full time all wheel drive. GMC Sierra 1500 classic was equipped with an impressive array of Vortec engines and the models available were a 4.3L V6, 4.8L V8 and also three models of Vortec 5.3L V8 and the powerful Vortec 6.0L V8. The Vortec 8.1L V8 was equipped with powerful engines to pull more weight than heavy duty models. The light duty Sierra classic models operated on E85 and the GM vehicles on G85 capability run on gasoline. The Sierra classic heavy duty pickup offered a wide selection of body style and Powertrain combination. The classic models offered impressive power, advanced suspension, high capacity brakes and tough frames. Almost all models offered outstanding payload capacity along with hauling and towing capabilities. The GMC Sierra Denari Classic offered comfort, style with distinctive front-end appearance. With premium exteriors and interiors, the vehicle featured, enhanced performance to users.

Various options and packages

The GMC Sierra 3500 models offered plenty of similarities to that of the Chevy Silverado and the heavy duty pickup was sturdy. The upgrade model offered plenty more than regular 1500 models with rugged fame, stiffer suspension and with powerful engine choices. The upgraded model was benefitted with better interior material and the Sierra 3500 classic was reputed for durability and towing capability. The long running vehicle was redesigned by the GMC and in 2007, the name of the vehicle was changed to 3500HD. The Sierra 3500 which was sold in 2001 was further extended by calling it Sierra Classic. Updates were made to the exterior and interior and the trucks were available in SL, SLE and SLT trim levels. With standard engine, the 6.0 liter V8 offered 300 horsepower and 360 pf of torque. The classic 3500 model offered two options engines 8.1 liter gasoline V8 producing 340 hp and torque of 455 lb-ft. The 6.6 liter turbo diesel produced 300 hp and 520 lb-ft of torque. The diesel version was upgraded in 2006 making it more powerful and the same engine was carried over for the 2007 classics. The standard model with five speed manual transmission offered a 6.0 liter V8 engine along with four speed automatic option. The 8.1 liter V8 turbo diesel engine came with six speed manual option. Sierra 3500 Classic came with a comfortable style package and with a great reputation, the vehicle offered crew cab body style with premium exterior.

Safety features and technology

The vehicle provided reliable transportation to buyers. The classic 3500 model was equipped with four wheel drive capability and durable automatic transmission. With a powerful 8 cylinder engine, the vehicle was packed up with the latest technology, including air condition, fully automatic headlights, split folding rear seat and tilt steering wheel. The interior features FM radio, four speakers providing excellent sound quality. The vehicle is equipped with safety features such as ignition disabling, 4 wheel disc brakes with ABS and dual front impact airbags. The vehicle assures great safety to passengers along with comfort. The luxury speaker system provides great performance with noise reduction features.
