Porsche Panamera information:

Porsche Panamera

Introduction

Considering the size of the Panamera, it can easily be classified as a mid-size and full size luxury sedan and as we consider all the other aspects and dimensions. It also holds the honor of being Porsche’s first 4 door car which makes it a bit controversial and because Sports cars are symbol of Porsche, anything other than that is not at all taken well. The body shape of the car is made in a way to make it as polarizing as possible because it includes a bulbous back.

The present generation of Panamera is released in a number of different guises and the main model of the car is released as a mainstream rear wheel Panamera drive rather than a full size sedan to be honest. There are 4 variations of the car; namely; Panamera, 4, 4S, Turbo and Turbo S and each of them has slightly different specs. For example, there is a 3.4 Liter V6 engine in Panamera and there is a GTS version of the car that features a 4.8 liter V8 engine in it. The engine has a capacity to produce up to 570 HP.

Panamera

The all-wheel-drive GTS comes with Porsche's Sport Chrono Plus Package, a performance exhaust, upgraded brakes and a modified suspension with a lower ride height. The exterior gets aerodynamic enhancements and gloss-black accents, while the cabin has leather and Alcantara upholstery, a sport design steering wheel, special seats and a display in the instrument cluster that shows lateral and longitudinal acceleration.

The four-seat Porsche Panamera is a large four-door hatchback that's intended to compete with full-size luxury cars like the BMW 7 Series, Aston Martin Rapide S and Mercedes-Benz S-Class. For 2014, Porsche adds a GTS model and a Platinum Edition to the Panamera lineup. A Panamera S Hybrid that uses a 47-horsepower electric motor and a nickel-metal-hydride battery pack is also available.

Models and Features

The Porsche Panamera appeared for 2010, however just the short-wheelbase S, 4s and Turbo models were advertised. The S and 4s emphasized a 4.8-liter V8 appraised at 400 horsepower, while the Turbo's 4.8-liter V8 made 500 hp. The V6-fueled base Panamera and Panamera 4 arrived after a year with a bit less power than at present (300 hp), as did a discretionary Turbo Kit that could knock the Turbo up to 540 hp. For 2012, the Turbo S made its first appearance, replacing the Turbo Kit with its standard 550-hp muscle. An S Hybrid model also debuted with a supercharged V6 and an electric engine that collaborated for 380 hp; in any case, it wasn't a module cross breed like the current S E-Hybrid. The lively GTS bowed for 2013 with a 430-hp form of the 4.8-liter V8 and other extraordinary execution alterations.

Options and Packages

Meeting and exceeding our expectations, the Panamera is well equipped and to amaze you, even the standard model of Panamera includes bi-xenon lights, LED headlight and a lot of more features.  Moreover, the availability of a great 7 inch touch screen and Bluetooth and iPhone connectivity lets you enjoy your ride with your favorite music on. The exciting this is that as you move up to the later models, you keep on getting bigger and better features.

Then there's the matter of Porsche's infamous options list, which invites you to drop tens of thousands more on more stuff you don't really need. The Panamera's profile and rear view are a lightning rod for criticism, though the style plays a part in the car's large backseat and versatile cargo hatch. The main visible distinction between the V-6 version and the higher trim levels is a matte-black trim surrounding the side windows in place of chrome. The Panamera seats four people. The backseat comprises two bucket seats with a flow-through console between them. All Panamera models have a 7-inch touch-screen and a 4.8-inch color display in the instrument cluster.

Panamera

Under the Hood

It wasn’t until 2010 when Porsche was launched and S and 4S models were released but they got a 4.8 liter V8 rated at 400 hp and you could also install an option turbo kit in the car to further enhance its performance. The turbo S made its debut in the year 2012 and since then it has been a major hit in the car industry.

Big changes were brought in in the year 2014 as the heading was the highlight of these changes with a longer wheelbase was launched to replace the S models with a V6 model making the impact. However, the GTS kept its specifications as it didn’t really need a change in specs.

Fuel Economy

The car enjoys really good fuel economy because it is a rear wheel drive and Panamera 4 is also able to deliver an astonishing 310 horsepower V6 while the Panamera 4 and 4S with a turbocharged 420 hp for the year 2014. There is also a hybrid version of Panamera launched to give more freedom to the power users and it has a V6 engine with 95 hp electric motor that is able to produce a total of 416 hp which is massive.

There aren’t any specific fuel economy numbers available yet but the way the previous releases have made an impact, we can easily say that it will do more than 18 miles per gallon or 27 miles per gallon in the city. Not much change in those numbers is expected however a slight change might be there. Moreover, the new 4 and 4S must improve on the city to further strengthen their V8 powered predecessors just like in the recent times.

Safety Ratings and Technology

The Panamera's front inhabitants get frontal, knee and seat-mounted side-sway airbags. There are additionally side-sway airbags for the back seats and in addition side shade airbags to cover the side windows of both lines. Extra security peculiarities include: Antilock brakes, Electronic solidness framework and footing control, Available versatile headlamps, Available versatile journey control furthermore blind side cautioning framework.
