While making a supercar a decision has to be taken whether the car would be an instrument of constant stimulation or an isolation chamber that offers serenity. Well, the 2016 Mercedes-Maybach S600 has chosen the middle path, which projects it as a  car that cater to all the five senses  in measured doses.

This Maybach is not a transport for people who have named slots in parking lots, but the V-12 powered, twin turbo charged Goliath spewing out 523 horses and announcing a price tag of $190,275 is for   people who have buildings in their names, particularly in the eastern part of Asia, China. In America even people with billions could like to think themselves as middle class folks and some of them even drive the Ford F-150 pickups.  The Maybach is obscenely luxurious even by the one percent   American billionaires and that is the reason only 10% of the refreshed Maybach S-classes are making their way to stateside.

Where as in China has a caste system based culture and the overt rich class expects to be driven in royal comfort while they sip from champagne flutes made of sterling silver. This is one good reason for 50 percent of the Maybach production heading this way. Let us have a look at this billionaire’s car.

The mechanicals of the Mayback are very similar to the standard S600. During assembly the structure has been strengthened by joining additional steel panel to the floor, rear quarters extended with aluminum and the body is bonded to a longer roof. Result is an extra wheelbase stretch of 8.1 inch and addition of chrome B-pillars with tiny windows beside them. What you are looking at is a huge provocative profile with lavishness spread to the full.

The   multi-spoke wheels on the standard S600 make it appear anonymous but the exclusive 20- inch wheels available optionally is the one that grabs your eyeballs. The wheels visually offer a fu touristic look to the car by lowering the center of gravity. Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 of 245/40 and 275/35 run flat tires carry the Maybach and it looks like something that came out of the Master of the Universe franchise.

The seats are throne like and the headrests are pillow like.   Even six foot individuals won’t be able to touch the front seats at full stretch. Sheep skin mates adorn the car floor and the back seats offer the most silence place in a running automobile. A Burmester surround sound system is installed in to a Maybach or an equal high end 3-D audio system that reproduces live music from tweeters that pop and rotate when functioning. Starting the ignition infuse life into the V-12 that produce a heartwarming rumble with its six cylinders, but the eco stop-start button switches off power whenever the Maybach stops which could be annoying as  you need to kick of the engine again several times in congested  drive ways. The Maybach produces a top speed of 132 mph while it offers a fuel economy of an EPA rated 12/ 20 mpg, when tested it averaged a mixed 14mpg.
